What would you say to your 18 year old self today?

There are so many things you might want to say.

Out of curiosity would they listen? (smile)


the younger version of us, so wise, yet so innocent

Here's some ideas to get the ball rolling, add ones you think of in the comments.. can't wait to read what you come up with!


  1. That thing you’re stressing over? You won’t even remember it in five years.” chill and enjoy this stage of your life. Seriously.

  2. Focus on yourself, your thoughts, feelings, actions, stop trying to impress people that will likely not be in your life within a year.

  3. Credit cards aren’t free money. I repeat: CREDIT CARDS ARE NOT FREE MONEY. Future you will thank you.

  4. Wear sunscreen. Your 40-year-old face is begging you. You are not invincible.

  5. Not everyone is thinking about you. Everyone is overly consumed by themselves. Be present in the moment, do fun things, make memories, go to the dance, take risks, and laugh a lot, then laugh harder.

  6. Being ‘busy’ is not a personality trait, there's no reward or trophy for being the hardest working person in the room. Learn to rest, too.

  7. Nobody has life figured out, not even the adults who seem like they do. We’re all winging it. We are all struggling with our own internal insecurities and issues.

  8. Say yes to opportunities, even if they scare you. Fear and excitement feel the same—lean into it, just like when you went on the rollercoaster for the very first time. Just jump on and make it memorable.

  9. Your metabolism is not a lifelong superpower. Be kind to your body, take care of it today, it will pay off over and over again.

  10. Confidence isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about trusting yourself to figure it out a long the way. Lean and go on the journey. You’ve got this.

  11. Apologizing doesn’t make you weak. Defensiveness does. Take ownership of your mistakes, people connect and appreciate with people that are authentic, genuine and admit that they too are human.

  12. Invest in friendships that feel easy, fun, cheer you on and push you to continue to grow and evolve. Let go of the ones that drain you. Quality Over Quantity.

  13. Comparison is a fast track to misery. Your timeline is YOURS. Life and other people are not your competition.
