We don't make progress forward when we determine there's a villain in our story, and we become the victim.

refrain from creating a villain in your story

When we call someone the bad guy in our story, we often don't realize that we are deciding that we are the victim.

Blaming other people for our agony, instantly makes us the victim in the story.

By casting someone as the villain, we are essentially giving them our power. It is important to remember that no one is purely good or purely evil, and by painting someone as the villain, we give the sense of control and agency to them.

By casting ourselves as the victim, we limit our ability to see the bigger picture and find solutions. Tunnel vision, focused on what's wrong and that you're right, prevents us from understanding the perspectives of other individual. It is important to step out of the victim mentality and open ourselves up to different viewpoints in order to move forward and create positive change.

This dynamic can be especially damaging in relationships, where misunderstandings and miscommunications can easily escalate into unnecessary conflicts. Instead of assigning blame, it is important to approach challenges with empathy and open-mindedness, allowing for growth and understanding to thrive.

Drop the roles, see that you're both two human being attempting to communicate in two different languages.

Believing you are owed or deserving or expecting things to be a certain way can lead to disappointment and resentment. It's important to have realistic expectations and to work towards our goals with a positive attitude and a willingness to adapt to change. Remember, life doesn't always go as planned, but how we respond to challenges can make all the difference.

True progress is made when we let go of the need for heroes and villains, and instead focus on fostering healthy and constructive relationships.
