Overthinking

Is There Actually a Decision to Make?
Some overthinking feels like responsible decision-making even though no current decision exists. Separating an actionable choice from hypothetical future thinking brings attention back to what can actually be known, chosen, or done today.

Not everything that feels like a decision is one.
You can spend hours deciding what you’ll do if you get the offer, if they respond, if the relationship changes, if the plan falls through, or if something happens six months from now.
Your mind is busy making decisions.
There’s just one problem: some of those decisions don’t exist yet.
The information isn’t available.
The choice hasn’t appeared.
The timing hasn’t arrived.
That doesn’t mean planning is useless.
Planning works with what you know.
Overthinking keeps demanding answers from what you don’t.
Before solving another future scenario, ask: Is there an actual decision available to me right now?
If not, what is actually mine to do today?
