Self-Leadership

Where Is Your Attention?
You can be physically present while your attention is replaying the past, preparing for the future, or solving something that isn't happening right now. Presence begins with noticing where your attention keeps going rather than forcing yourself to stay in the moment.

Overthinking can pull your attention away from what's actually happening, even when you're physically present.
You may be replaying the past, predicting the future, rehearsing conversations, or trying to solve problems before you have enough information.
Presence isn't about forcing yourself to stop thinking. It's noticing where your attention keeps going and recognizing when your mind is somewhere your life isn't.
A useful self-leadership question is: What keeps pulling you away from what's happening right now?
