Confidence & Self-Leadership

You Don’t Have to Feel Ready
An unwanted feeling doesn’t have to change before you decide how you want to participate. This coaching insight separates emotional state from intentional action, helping you see that feeling insecure, nervous, or uncertain doesn’t automatically determine what you do next.

What if confidence isn’t the ticket required to enter the room?
You can feel insecure and still walk in.
Feel nervous and still introduce yourself.
Feel uncertain and still participate.
We often treat feelings like instructions: I feel uncomfortable, so I should wait.
I don’t feel confident, so I’m not ready.
The feeling is real.
The instruction we attach to it is optional.
Self-leadership isn’t getting yourself into the perfect emotional state before you participate in your life.
It’s recognizing that you can feel something you didn’t choose and still choose what you do next.
So maybe the better question isn’t, “How do I make myself feel confident?”
It’s: “How do I want to show up while confidence is apparently running late?”
